Church Times Letter from the Global South

The site that originally published the letter has added this note:

(GSA Admin note:
This letter is posted here for the benefit of those who attended the Encounter and the people they represent. Archbishop Rowan William’s talk and sharing was appreciated and well received with deep gratitude, though as expected, it will raise some questions as well, some which were conveyed by the delegates to the Primates. This letter is a part of the on-going process of dialogue between Global South and the Archbishop of Canterbury and should not be interpreted in other unhelpful ways.)

And Ekklesia has Anglican Primates deny attack on Archbishop of Canterbury and also Global leaders query Church of England state link

I accept Archbishop Hanford’s picture of this — I’ve been to many meetings at which things have been said or done with which I’ve disagreed without feeling the need to make a fuss about it. The assumption of assent was clearly wrong.

At least that is what that section of the press wants us to believe. pick one word ‘evil’ from over 2000 words and picture it proceeding out of the mouths of archbishops pointing with accusing fingers.

-sorry wrong picture. The Global south web used one that showed them together with some edibles on the table.

The scandal is the failed attempt to divert people from the contents of the response which many have commented truly represents them

Many indeed (what is it that you want to “prove” by the word “many”?) but unfortunately not all of the “signatories”…

And that is a Scandal.

Thank you, your Grace, for coming…. We were pleased by your positive comments regarding … We are grateful for your willingness to answer the many questions that our members wished to ask, and we hope that you may take time to answer some of those that were not mentioned in the session…. We welcome your pastoral example of coming amongst us as presiding Primate of the Anglican Communion. We recognize the limitations on your office, as the Communion has few legal structures. We agree with you that a Communion Covenant is needed…. Once again, we wish to commend you for… Read more »
