Sometimes I am reminded of “Peter Pan.” OK people, clap if you believe in women bishops! GUESS WHAT? They exist without your applause!
Seeing the way the C of E is going, I’m now waiting for the first muslim or hindu appointment to the bench of bishops !
I keep forgetting that CoE is so far behind on the graceful opening to women bishops. In TEC/USA we break through, receiving with great joy the calling and gifts and leadership and ministry of women like PB Jefferts Schori. Who wants to do without her when the chips are down, thanks to this egregious realignment campaign? Are religious straight men really so terribly afraid of women as a suspect class of tainted creatures? Gee. I just gotta say it again in public: Thank goodness, thank God for Bishop Jefferts Schori and for all the other women God has called and raised up and sustained among us without categorical gender exclusion to help see us through these changing times.
Well thats why in the minds of most Anglicans, TEC/USA has put itself out of communion with the Church (capital ‘C’ intended).
I just hope + Manchester’s group will try and honour promises it made to us who find these innovations hard to accept and will try to treat us, as general synod declared ‘as loyal anglicans’.
