12 February 2015The Church of England has today published a set of resources called ‘Grace and Disagreement’ for the Shared Conversations on Scripture, Mission and Sexuality.
The first booklet outlines the thinking behind the conversations, the process and their place in the life of the church. The second booklet comprises four essays, with varying views, which participants in the conversations are asked to read prior to taking part in the conversations.

I am a Christian transsexual lesbian and been invited to participate in the conversations. I have locally also been involved in senior police training to combat hate crime. The latter has often made me feel as a curiosity when I talk to cis heterosexual people about my experiences. This feeling arises because it requires me to reveal intimate details of my sexuality and embodiment to an audience who are not required to do this in an equal way. Clairejxx, If the Church has any integrity, it will welcome your evidence; remembering the Jesus Christ is the Redeemer of ALL who look to Him for life. It really is time for the Church to accept the fact that we are all God’s children, loved by God and accepted as we are!
