Under the headline Church of England’s ‘parliament’ holds virtual question time the Church of England claimed today that:
The Church of England’s General Synod has held its first virtual question time. Twenty-five questions from Members, asked by e-mail, are answered on the Church’s website today.
The answers, along with the questions were published officially only in the form of an RTF file.

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. As the press release suggests, this is an experiment so part of me thinks I should let the Synod decide for themselves whether they think it is useful or not. Having said that, surely this mode of operation is not just about doing things better internally but also about making Synod’s work more publicly visible and accountable? *Two* (of only 25) questions regarding “the advertisement placed by the Gay Police Association in The Independent headlined “In the name of the father””?

The two questions were both from the same person, so it’s really only one question…
