11.30 Children’s Worship and Activities in the Abbey Primary School. Celebrations of St Alban continue with drama, games and worship. All children welcome.
From lunchtime food and drink will be available from the Café at the Abbey and stalls on the Abbey Orchard, along with chariot racing, lion taming, bouncy castles, circus skills, and lots more.
14.00 Molieben (Orthodox Service of Intercession)
held at the Shrine of Saint Alban: all welcome.
16.00 Festival Evensong and Procession to the Shrine

Is it safe to assume the chariots do not have expanding axles with hooks at the ends as in Ben Hur?
Sounds like a good representation from Saint Paul’s Cathedral – 1 Dean and 1 prospective Canon-in-Residence. Good Show! Wish I could be there!
So, the clergy “who might not wish to concelebrate”, is this because they have issues with the whole idea of concelebration, or because they are taking part in these “Romish” goings on under duress? I mean, processions to shrines, wearing roses and leaving them at the shrine, all that sort of stuff, I imagine some of our more innovative reassessing brethren would be upset by this sort of traditional Christianity.

It might just be, Ford, that there will be some among the pilgrims who would object to sharing presidency at the Eucharist with a female priest. don’t forget, there are still some Anglican clergy in the UK who have an antipathy towards women in any sort of ordained ministry. The silly thing is – we all look the same in a dress!

Well, our rector has a very full, quite red beard. What do female priests in England look like, anyway?:-) And isn’t Anglicanism grand? If you can’t celebrate the Eucharist with others because they’re too Roman, you can still ally yourself with those who can’t celebrate the Eucharist with you because you aren’t Roman enough! No unity in the Eucharist, but unity in pettiness and selfrighteousness! How delightfully eccentric, what?
