Even earlier Carl Gardner had written on his own blog, on 30 April Short shrift for Lord Carey.
And the day before, Heresy Corner had published Laying down the Laws.
Carl Gardner – ‘If Christians feel their faith is held in contempt, perhaps they should look to themselves and the leaders who make it contemptible’. Quite so.
“Lord” Carey is some piece of work. It is startling to think that Margaret Thatcher got him appointed as Archbishop of Canterbury. His tenure was certainly that of a fundamentalist evangelical and not your average Anglican. His letter to the Court was appalling on so many levels but I guess he is certainly entitled to his opinions. Is it not time for this man to retire to the countryside?
Chris, many have referred to George Carey as Margaret Thatcher’s revenge on the Church of England.
