A London bus today went out of control and caused substantial damage to the garden wall at Lambeth Palace.
SE1 has a report with dramatic pictures here: Drama at Lambeth Palace as bus knocks down part of garden wall.
Another picture of the damaged wall is available here.
I hope that this will allow a little light and fresh air to enter.
A prelude to tanks on the lawn?
That’s a pity. Glad it didn’t touch the buildings, though.
My goodness, has the pope arrived early??
Re Benedict visiting Lambeth: I’d love it if Rowan invited Benedict into the chapel. Rowan would genuflect, and it would be interesting to see whether Benedict did too. If he did, that would be of some considerable ecumenical interest (alongside previous gifts from this and previous popes that would seem to recognise the validity of our eucharists…).
But did it have one of those “There’s probably no God” ads on the side?
Panzers zis vay forward !!!!
A tourist attack?
I noticed the bus was bound for Victoria. Does this have any bearing on the fact that the Archbishop of Nigeria is threatening to visit Lambeth Palace with a high-profil gaggle of Nigerian Anglican Bishops (and probably financed by ACNA) steeped in Victorian attitudes towards sexuality and gender in the near future?
Better erect a barricade of Inclusive Church enthusiasts against the possibility of a breach in the Anglican way of ‘Unity in Diversity’.
Why is the wall “historic”? And have the foxes finally burst loose?
Did Rowan escape?
Good grief, look at the weeds. Looks like an abandoned factory…’nuff said.
