I listened to the recording of the Farewell and Prorogation of the General Synod on the link provided, and was plased at the Archbishop’s tribute made to the ministry of John Saxbee as Bishop of Lincoln. John Saxbee has been one of the more productively ‘thinking’ Anglicans of his day, and it was an entirely worthy and gracious tribute from the ABC. It was good, too, to hear the Archbshop’s fond remembrance of Colin Slee, who will be sorely missed from the world-wide community of the Church – as well as in his role as Dean of Southwark.
