Regarding the Spanish Inquisition and those pesky “judaizers”: For quite a while, as the Christian Spaniards wrested political and territorial control from the Muslim Spaniards, Jews were harassed, questioned, forced to wear special clothing, forced to listen to priests who party-crashed services at will in Jewish synagogues, restricted to what employment they could work, etc. So, many Jews gave up and converted.
