From the Exeter diocesan website: Next Bishop of Crediton announced today
The new bishop will be consecrated on 27 September at Southwark Cathedral.
This is extremely good news for our Diocese and it will be very good to weclome Jackie
It is of course a very good and welcome appointment. #WB16
I know David visits here (unless there are two of you with the same name?) so I hope it would not be presumptuous to say congratulations to you, and especially, Jackie
Thanks Kate. After keeping the secret since (my diary is not to hand) a few days after the foundation of the earth, this sudden publicity and generous waves of greeting and support come as quite shock. But we are very grateful.
#WB77 for the Anglican Communion (probably 75th by date consecration as Kate Prowd (Melbourne AUS) and Emma Ineson (Penrith ENG) will be consecrated later). I think this means the C of E episcopate is about 13-14% female, 86-87% male. And I’m guessing we will see 60 women at Lambeth 2020.
