Giles Goddard talks of Living in Love and Faith producing videos to help explain LGBTI lives as though that is something valuable. It isn’t. Every priest should already have heard many similar stories because listening to people is part of the priestly vocation. Such stories get us precisely nowhere.
Kate, I disagree, because it isn’t all about priests. There are still very many people in C of E congregations who haven’t met, or aren’t aware that they’ve met, anyone included in the LGBTQI+ group. I believe that stories are the way to connect with real people rather than with abstract ideas and from what I’ve seen in preview these are powerful witnesses to a wide range of identities and also opinions.
