The Bishop of Crediton, the Rt Revd Jackie Searle, has announced that she plans to retire at the end of January 2025.
Well, since I know Jackie a bit, I’d like to thank for for her ministry (especially in the last year or so as she’s been acting bishop of Exeter too), and wish her and David God’s blessings in the next stage of their journey in Christ.
Indeed, I echo this Tim. Many thanks to Jackie for her inspiring leadership. May she and David have a very long and happy retirement.
Yes, indeed, +Jackie’s wise stewardship will be greatly missed around Exeter Diocese. And it would be remiss not to mention too her spouse, David, whose ministry in the rural parishes around Tiverton has been much appreciated; not least for his intelligent preaching which has been both pastoral and challenging. May they find rest and re-creation in their retirement.
I have just read this news and pray for Jackie and David to know God’s continuing grace and presence in their devoted lives.
