This item was the proposed, but defeated, amendment to Standing Orders to remove the requirement for secret ballots at meetings of the Crown Nominations Commission.

On the CNC transparency vote, did anyone vote in favour of this who is known to be against the ordination of women? I realise not everyone’s views are in the public arena, but since this was one of the concerns that drove the whole review, it would be interesting to know.
Forgive me for being thick, but I have looked in vain to find the voting record on the proposal to abolish Parochial Fees debate. Can anyone enlighten me?
There was no specific proposal to abolish parochial fees. Before Synod was a motion to approve fees for 2020 onwards. This was item 507 and the voting list for this is online. Presumably those who wanted to abolish fees voted against this.
Hilary, I have analysed the list but my information on view on the ordination of women is sketchy (it is possible to derive a fair idea of views on sexuality from the votes in 2017 on conversion therapy and trans welcome). From my knowledge, I am inclined to answer ‘No’ to your question, but with limited certainty. However, a good number, especially laity, who are very much in favour of the ordination of women, and indeed also of change on sexuality for what it is worth, voted against the motion.
